What is DMEscripts and how does it work?
DMEscripts is an online electronic prescribing (ePrescribing) tool that allows physicians and other medical practitioners to write and send prescriptions for durable medical equipment to medical equipment suppliers electronically instead of using handwritten or faxed prescriptions.
DMEscripts provides a clear and easy process for providers and suppliers to submit and fill orders more accurately and efficiently than manual processes and helps patients get the medical equipment they need faster.
DMEscripts works in three easy steps:
- DMEscripts securely collects patient information either through integration with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system or through manual input.
- DMEscripts asks a series of questions to determine patient health needs and insurance qualifications. It then uses internal programming logic to produce a list of suggested items that match the patient’s needs and qualifications.
- Once the right items are selected, DMEscripts collects and generates the medical equipment order documentation.
DMEscripts gives providers and suppliers full visibility to the order status throughout the entire process. Suppliers receive all the documentation they need in one complete package so they can easily fill the order. If they need more information, the order stays in DMEscripts and moves back to the provider with clear instructions for what is needed.
